Research Profile
Welcome to the School of Law research page
Research is an integral part of the School of Law; it is, of course, an end in itself, but it also informs and enriches teaching and provides an important commentary on and critique of law, criminal justice policy and practice. Researchers in the School are a vibrant mix of experienced, nationally and internationally-known scholars and younger, more up-and-coming individuals who are beginning to build a reputation. Staff are engaged in a wide and exciting range of research in law and criminal justice.
Because research is a key priority in the School, a framework has been put in place to help encourage and support it. The Head of Research meets annually with those who are research-active, to discuss their work over the preceding year and their plans for the forthcoming 12 months. A seminar programme is organised with visiting speakers. Research is one of the issues discussed at the School’s Annual Planning Meeting, and at the monthly meetings of the School Strategy Group.
The various research areas that staff are working on can be found by clicking on individual staff pages.
