It has been said that the Legal Practice Course (LPC) is a halfway house between the academic
study of law and professional legal practice. If that is the case then you will find this particular half way house, a home from home.
Course Information - Full time LPC
Course Information - Part time LPC
At LJMU we are proud of our open access policy and the highly supportive learning environment we provide. Although the content and context of the course is highly prescribed by the Law Society, the LPC at LJMU does have its own underlying principles. Put simply we aim to:
-
prepare you for a training contract by equipping you to deal with the demands that are likely to be made of you in practice; and
-
to lay the foundation for your future practice as solicitors by encouraging habits of competence, confidence and professionalism.
As befits a professional course, the LPC is very demanding. You will rely on the support networks you create as you progress through the course. The Law Society in its monitoring visits considered the supportive working environment to be one of the many strengths of the LPC at LJMU. We would be more than pleased to meet you if you want to visit us and our facilities.
